Hey everyone! I’ve been asked quite a lot how I paint my nails so I decided to do a little picture tutorial to show the correct way to paint your nails to get the cleanest shape near your cuticles.
You first need to start out with a clean nail, wipe away any remnants of polish with nail polish remover and then apply a base coat.
Always use a base coat, it makes your nail polish apply better, last longer, and protects your nail from staining.
One of my favorite base coats: Revlon Post Trauma Nail Treatment
Apply a glob of polish slightly lower from where you’d like your polish to reach. You will then push the glob of paint upwards towards the cuticle, gently glide over to one side and pull all the way down the length of the nail. Then do the same thing on the other side of the nail. Fill in the middle and allow to dry. If you want, you can apply a second coat (or third or fourth…) and apply a top coat.
A top coat will smooth out any polish that you may have smudged, adds shine, and creates a seal to prevent chipping.
Seche Vite is my all time favorite top coat.
