I get many many requests on a tutorial for this dreamcatcher nail art I did a while back so I decided to redo the look and make a quick tutorial.
So this tutorial may look a little messy (I just had espresso so my lines weren’t exactly perfect!) but don’t worry – Seche Vite cures everything.
I used one of my brushes from my Mash nail art brush set and Essie – Licorice to create a heart shape. I added a dot in the center to show where I wanted the dreamcatcher webbing to meet. I then started adding the webbing by painting small lines, I couldn’t really figure out how to get the lines to all intersect so I had to keep recovering it with Re-fresh Mint.
- you can create any kind of design you’d like, just make sure that each side of the dreamcatcher matches so it looks like it was weaved-
Because some of my lines were getting wiggly/and or too thick I used some of the Re-fresh Mint to go over and clean up the lines (as you can see in the picture)
I then added the three strings and made a globby feather with Sally Hansen – Eel Skin. You can use black and white to add depth to the feathers if you’d like.
Now the fun part! – using a small dotting tool and some loose glitter you can add the little bead accents to the dreamcatcher wherever you’d like. I used OPI – Pink Friday and China Glaze – Flip Flop Fantasy to add a little color.
I topped it off with Seche Vite which blended all of my thick polish and made my lines look a lot sleeker and smoother (it wouldn’t have looked too pretty without it!)
